Job description

Duties: The Associate Director of the F&A GAAP Team will serve as a primary operational and analytical resource for the Associate Controller, independently resolving time sensitive and critical requests, problem solving and trouble-shooting issues. This position supervises a staff of six staff (3 BAs and 3 Financial Administrative Coordinators) and is responsible for complete and accurate financial processing of approximately $150M which is about 40% of Wharton's Budget that is processed at the School level. This position will need to understand Penn and Wharton policies and develop best practices for the team and School at large. Position must lead process improvements and jump in to solve daily problems as they arise. In addition this team is a resource utilized for interim outages of the business administrator community at the Wharton School. Position will analyze spending patterns, discover problem areas, and suggest alternative solutions.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required and 5-7 years of experience is required or equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated management experience. Demonstrated strong financial, analytical and modeling skills. Demonstrated decision making and problem solving ability as well as excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and customer service oriented. Capability to independently manage multiple projects from design through final presentation. Ability to work under demanding time lines. Ability to see the big picture while effectively analyzing details.
