Primarily responsible for facilitating access to health information by developing programs and services to increase UNTHSC clinical health practitioner and researcher access to authoritative biomedical literature. Manages, coordinates and evaluates library research services programs.

Position Details
The Library Department at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire a Senior Librarian to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:

* Responsible for developing library-wide user-centered public services standards and best practices.
* The Head of Public Services serves as part of as a collaborative group to advance the mission and vision of the library and to foster the university's values of a Best Place to Work.
* Supervises professional librarians and other staff.
* Leads unit operations of in-person and online circulation, reference, and research services.
* Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all staff members and the public and have a positive support/service attitude.
* Hires, on-boards and trains new librarians and staff to provide ongoing support for reference, research and instruction services.
* Facilitates collaboration and communication among public service staff to ensure high quality user services in-person.
* Participates in strategic planning for the library.

Required Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following required qualifications:

Master's degree in library or information science and three (3) years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:

* Three or more year's professional experience, including at least two years in a supervisory, management, or leadership role.
* Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
* Demonstrated knowledge of current issues and opportunities in enhancing access to library services.
* Familiarity with assessment and evaluation methods; creative, innovative and motivated to engage in ongoing assessment of services.
* Familiarity with information literacy concepts, trends, pedagogies and assessment.
