Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

Provide administrative support for the Associate Dean for Curriculum. Serve as the primary point of contact for the College of Social Work's academic schedules with the Office of the Registrar. Coordinate COSW course offerings, room assignments, schedule exceptions requests, distributed learning, and other responsibilities related to the College's academic schedules. Assist with instructor staffing, including the processing of applications and files related to the hiring and credentialing of teaching (instructor) faculty.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)

Bachelor's degree and 2 years related experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services; or equivalency.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with USC computer systems and platforms, including Banner and Data warehouse.


Proficient in use of computer/applications, specifically MS Office Suite. Experience with data collection platforms (e.g. SurveyMonkey, MailChimp, Formstack, etc.)
Ability to maintain confidentiality and understand FERPA. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and deal courteously and effectively with students, staff, faculty, and the public.
Ability to effectively plan and organize work activities and prioritize task completion according to schedules and goals.
Ability to work independently, exercising good judgment and reasoning in the performance of complex job duties while being an effective team player.
Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with units across campus.
