The Speech and Feeding Disorders Laboratory at the MGH Institute of Health Professions is seeking applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow in research on speech disorders.

Our lab leverages a wide-array of technologies (e.g., machine learning, biomechanic, robotic, and neural imaging) to conduct research on speech motor impairments. One major focus of the lab is to develop novel diagnostic tools for assessing and remediating speech problems. Candidates will conduct original research in one or more of the aspects of science relevant to the mission and goals of the lab which may include: machine learning classification, 3D biomechanics, automatic speech recognition (ASR), electrophysiologic diagnostics, brain stimulation techniques including TMS or tDCS, brain imaging, acoustic modeling, real-time processing of sensor data, and motor learning and motor control. Candidates with backgrounds in all related areas will be considered.

The Postdoctoral Fellow will have access to state-of-the-art research facilities. Current research projects are funded by several large grant awards from the National Institutes of Health. The laboratory staff consists of a multidisciplinary team of undergraduate, graduate, doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows.

The position has many benefits including (a) mentored development in manuscript and grant preparation; (b) immersion in large-scale, federally-funded research drawing from multiple disciplines; and (c) didactic research training. At the conclusion of the experience, fellows will be well poised to assume roles in academic institutions or research centers that have as their priority advancing the scientific basis of human communication.

The SFDL Postdoctoral Fellow will receive two years of full-time support with a 12-month salary set based on NIH guidelines, a standard benefits package, and financial support for travel and research supplies.

Review of applications will continue until position is filled. The following application materials are required: a letter of interest, up to three scholarly publications, curriculum vitae, and three references. All applicants should apply online and submit application materials to Dr. Jordan Green at jgreen2@mghihp.edu.
