Under the direction of the Manager of Network Administration and the Senior Network Administrators, the Programmer/Analyst I must be able to administer user login accounts by creating new security profiles and updating existing profiles for access to UC Irvine DCE network and the student administration system, and removing expired user accounts in a timely manner. Acts as a consultant in analyzing users' software and training requests and provides or directs staff to an appropriate solution. Troubleshoots computer and software problems. Installs and upgrades software and hardware on PC's. Supports the ongoing security efforts of the network team and complies with the standards set by the UCI Office of Information Technology. Participate in meetings regarding data security measures, software and network changes and strategic planning meetings regarding network team current and future infrastructure and support services. Assist in maintaining the Office365 and the file servers by running reports, finding locked processes and clearing locks. Must maintain a thorough awareness of current and future technology trends and how they affect data security, desktop operating systems, and MS Office in order to make recommendations for annual strategic planning. Assist in meeting the requirements for PCI DSS, EU GDPR, and UCI-IS3.

Salary: Range $22.92 - 26.50
Total Hours: 8-5, M-F
Contract Position: This is a one year contract appointment position with the possibility of additional year contract appointment extensions. Per the University of California (UC) recruitment policy, because this position has undergone competitive recruitment, this position can be converted to career status any time after hire, as conversion meets criteria set by UC recruitment policy and the needs of the Office of Information Technology department.
