Assistant/Associate Professor Emergency Medicine/Medical Intensivist

The Division of Emergency Medicine at The Larner College of Medicine at The University of Vermont is seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician desiring to pursue a career in academic emergency medicine. We recently received approval to create an Emergency Medicine Residency. Appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor (Clinical Scholar Pathway) will be commensurate with years of experience and accomplishments. The University of Vermont Medical Center (UVMMC) is the teaching hospital affiliated with The Larner College of Medicine at The University of Vermont. UVMMC is an ACS verified Level 1 Trauma Center for both adult and pediatric patients, and a major tertiary referral center for the state of Vermont and upstate New York. With an annual census of greater than 60,000 patients, the emergency department is known for high quality patient care and dedicated teaching faculty.
Applicants must be board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine, board certified or board eligible in Critical Care Medicine, and eligible for licensure in the State of Vermont. Although all interested candidates are encouraged to apply, strong preference will be given to candidates with experience in the teaching, clinical, and research activities of academic emergency medicine and critical care medicine. This is a full-time, 12 month, salaried position with attending staff privileges at The University of Vermont Medical Center and Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital (CVPH). Clinical responsibilities will be divided between the Medical Intensive Care Unit (25%) and the Emergency Departments of UVMMC and CVPH (75%).
