Position Summary: The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy (the School) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is recruiting for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in the Division of Practice Advancement and Clinical Education (https://pharmacy.unc.edu/). The successful candidate will be based in Asheville, NC at the Division of Research within the Mountain Area Health Education Center (MAHEC) to conduct implementation research and apply these principles into education and scholarship. The School and MAHEC are part of the larger academic enterprise of the UNC Health Sciences at MAHEC campus, which also includes the UNC School of Medicine-Asheville Campus, the UNCA/UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health, and Western Carolina University Nursing and Allied Health Programs. The UNC Health Sciences at MAHEC campus is located in beautiful Asheville, which is nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains and has a vibrant local arts and cultural scene. MAHEC is dedicated to serving as a national leader in improving care in the areas of: substance use and mental health, pain management, women's health, rural health, and geriatrics. This position represents an exciting opportunity to leverage the unique data resources of MAHEC to conduct cutting edge research and training in the areas of implementation science. The person will help to support the clinical pharmacy practice at MAHEC in conducting implementation research on the role of integrated pharmacists in primary care. MAHEC is also interested in implementation research on other integrated professions, such as behavioral health, psychiatry, dieticians and physical therapy. The successful candidate will maintain a research portfolio consistent with one or more of these areas. In addition to the opportunity to build upon strong existing collaborations between the local hospital system, community organizations, and health care providers in Western North Carolina, the faculty member will have equal access to all the research resources and benefits as UNC faculty based in Chapel Hill, which include competitive start-up packages, the Campbell mentoring program for junior faculty, and the ability to apply for funding from the Eshelman Institute for Innovation (www.unceii.org) and the PharmAlliance (www.pharmalliance.org).

Application Deadline:

Education Requirements: PhD, PharmD, or equivalent doctoral degree with training in implementation science or a related area from an accredited institution.

Qualification and Experience: Possess a track record of peer-reviewed publications that demonstrate scientific contributions in their respective field. Develop and maintain an extramurally funded research program and mentor student research projects in this area. Provide professional and graduate student instruction and serve the University and their discipline. Participate in a collegial environment that fosters ongoing collaboration with local community partners, healthcare partners, and faculty from a wide variety of disciplines.
