The Media Design Lab Evening Assistant will assist with the general operation of the Media Design Lab on evenings and weekends when student lab employees require additional support. This includes assisting students, faculty, and staff on the use of software such as Final Cut Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, and other programs. This position also provides assistance with the use of scanning and digitization equipment. Additionally, this position serves as an evening and weekend technician for the TV studio and Audio Lab. This position assists in the recording and post-production editing of academic programs for Video Production Services as needed.The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and knowledge of:
  • multimedia technologies in both a Mac and a PC environment. Working knowledge of
  • video editing software such as Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere. Working knowledge of
  • Adobe Creative Cloud software especially Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Audition, and others.
  • Broad knowledge of video production.
  • Extensive knowledge of video transcribing and captioning with software such as MacCaption.
Candidates should demonstrate a public-service orientation and ability to communicate face-to-face and in writing with a wide variety of constituents, including students, faculty, staff, and external contacts.
