This is a highly responsible administrative position in the Office of the Registrar requiring keen organizational, communication, and intermediate data entry skills. Works to ensure a smooth transition to ASU for all transfer students. Works in collaboration with the Admissions Office and the university community to evaluate coursework for transfer students; communicates transfer policy to various student and faculty constituencies; assures transfer policy compatibility with various other university programs and units; enhances a smooth transition to ASU for new transfer students; determines appropriate transfer equivalencies within university/Board of Regents guidelines. Considerable independent judgment is exercised in determining transfer credit applicability and articulation. Responsible for maintaining communications and transfer evaluations for designated population of incoming and continuing transfer students, including new transfers, readmits, and transient students.  

Training and Experience:

Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required, but will consider candidates with an associate's degree and experience in higher education, preferably in a registrar's office. Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required; must have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to facilitate and foster effective working relationships with students, parents, administrators, faculty and staff, and work autonomously on assigned tasks and projects. High aptitude to comprehend and grasp information quickly. High standards of ethics, honesty, integrity, and confidentiality. Must have the ability to lead a group, team, or project, type 40-50 wpm, consistently produce work with 100% accuracy and possess exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of constituencies. 

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in higher education (preferably in a registrar's office) and knowledge of the Banner Transfer Module.

Illustrative Examples of Work:

Determine disposition of incoming transcripts and other transfer-related documents for new and continuing students. Assist with retrieving, reviewing, and posting of determined advanced placement (AP) and CLEP reports and transfer work from prior colleges. Document and govern the intake of the undergraduate and graduate transient status permission form, which requires collaboration with the dean's offices, department chairs, faculty, academic advising, and staff about the appropriate submission of the transient status permission form. Interprets and explains to students, deans, department chairs, faculty, academic advising, and staff the policies and procedures governing the transient status permission form. Work is performed under the direction of the Assistant Registrar and is reviewed through individual conferences, reports, and periodic evaluation of results.
