Nature of Work:
This position is responsible for determining graduation eligibility of students. The position involves having detailed knowledge of degree programs, programming and completing degree audits for all students eligible for graduation. The position assists the Registrar in multiple areas of the department and is responsible for preserving the integrity of student records programs and processes. Work is performed under the direction of the Assistant Registrar and is reviewed through individual conferences, reports, and periodic evaluation of results.
Training and Experience:
Associate's degree and 1-3 years of experience working with student records in higher education/Registrar's Office with demonstrated ability to effectively maintain and analyze detailed records required; bachelor's degree preferred. Preference given to those with direct experience working with transfer credit and degree audit records.
Strong analytical thinking skills.
Familiarity with computerized technology and software programs
Able to function independently while operating effectively within a team environment.
Possess solid general computer skills, including ability to work in a Windows environment. Preference given to those with demonstrated knowledge of Banner and Argos Reporting software; familiarity with other specific applications used by the University a plus.
High level of confidentiality and discretion required.

Illustrative Examples of Work:
Performs and processes graduation applications and determines degree eligibility; includes completing degree evaluations for both two- and four-year degree programs at the time of application and final degree certification. Identifies unmet degree requirements and advises on an on-going basis with students regarding degree completion.
Implements, tests, analyzes and assists with the overall operation of the degree audit system. This includes monitoring and troubleshooting degree audit rules, monitors appropriate degree audit list-serves for enhancements and upgrades and works closely with the Systems Analyst and Registrar to ensure all programming is in place and in accordance with catalog degree requirements for all certificates and degree granting programs.
Manages and monitors exceptions and exemptions regarding individual student degree plans in accordance with University policies and procedures and/or upper level management decisions.
Works with appropriate staff to process course substitutions based on policy and the decisions of appropriate academic personnel.
Certifies program completions for all Education specialist, Master, baccalaureate, associate and certificate degrees and programs.
Assists in the preparation and facilitation of all graduation ceremonies including mailing information to students, running reports for the graduation program and posting the potential graduates list.
Assists with updates and maintenance of the departmental graduation web page including the monitoring and submission of graduation applications, attendance forms and surveys.
