The Painting, Drawing and Sculpture Department of Tyler School of Art, Temple University, invites applications for a Tenure-Track Appointment in Sculpture. We seek an artist with a broad knowledge of historical and contemporary art practices, as well as a comprehensive understanding of technical, critical, and theoretical issues within the expanded field of sculpture. We expect candidates to have a highly developed studio practice, significant professional accomplishments, and a demonstrated commitment to teaching (at least five years of experience in a sculpture department). The successful candidate will be expected to teach at all levels of our BFA undergraduate program, BA in Visual Studies and Studio Art program and MFA graduate program. Courses include Sophomore Sculpture, Advanced Sculpture, Mold Making Technology, Installation Art, Video/Film, Sound, Metal Fabrication, Digital Modeling, Graduate Projects, Graduate Seminar and Critical Dialogues. Applicants with a specialization in video, film and installation are of particular interest. The teaching load is 2/2 courses per year for the first two years.

RANK: Assistant Professor

QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a MFA, strong exhibition record, demonstrated teaching excellence, and an ability to communicate and work effectively with students, faculty and administrators. The successful candidate will also have significant administrative experience related to all areas of curriculum, program and budget management.
