General Summary: The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a FUSE Student Researcher Position in the Geospatial Archeology Department as part of the Faculty - Undergraduate Summer Engagement Program (FUSE). The student will engage in geospatial, environmental, and archaeological research alongside faculty members. Students will collect data, compile results, make maps, interpret data, and report results. Must be available to work for the duration of the FUSE grant period: May 14 to June 29, 2018 (7 weeks).

Job Duties & Responsibilities: The Student Researcher will:

  • Collect soil and water samples
  • Test samples
  • Compile results
  • Create maps in ArcGIS
  • Analyze and interpret data
  • Present results at FUSE meetings
  • Develop project report with project leaders

Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:
  • UNG student continuing enrollment in fall; must have completed or be enrolled in an Environmental Science course
  • Experience with Geospatial technology and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Should have taken (or currently be enrolled) in a Environmental Science (ESCI) courses like Soils, Hydrology, landuse Conservation, etc., and have an understanding of environmental chemistry.
