Associate Research Scholar
Princeton University's Faith and Work Initiative (FWI) within the Center for the Study of Religion (CSR) invites applications for an associate research scholar position. Position is open to scholars who have held their PhDs for 3-to-5 years and are interested in studying the area of Faith and Work, Workplace Spirituality and of the intersection of religious traditions, ethics, and work. Research focus might include combing ancient religious resources and wisdom traditions with modern questions about the nature of work, labor, meaning of money, ethics, and technologies in the rapidly changing contemporary corporate world and global economy. The successful candidate will conduct his/her own research (50%) and work closely with FWI's director to support his research projects and collaborate on new projects (50%). S/he may also participate in a weekly interdisciplinary workshop with other CSR pre- and post-doctoral scholars, and in FWI and CSR-sponsored events. Candidate must have strong organizational, research, and writing skills and previous research experience on faith at work/workplace spirituality or a related field (e.g., sociology, religion, business, ethics/moral philosophy, behavioral economics), and commensurate experience with relevant research tools, methods, and technology. International scholarly experience is valued, as is marketplace experience. This position is subject to the University's background check policy.
