Job description

Duties: Provide comprehensive academic support services and programs for students enrolled in science- and math-focused majors, schools, and/or programs and for students who, while not members of science and math-focused majors and schools, may nonetheless seek support for individual science and math courses. Collaborate with faculty and professional staff within the University's science and math-focused majors, programs, and schools to provide student and content-appropriate academic support and instructional programming. Provide consultation and participate in programs for course instructors, academic departments, professional staff, and tutors/mentors that focus on science and math curricula, instruction, and support. Serve on University committees concerned with the science and math curricula and with the provision of support for science and math-based courses.

Qualifications: Masters Degree in Science Education or Math / Science Field required; Ph.D. preferred plus 2-3 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience; Extensive knowledge in the areas of science and math, academic assessment and support, and higher education. Experience teaching math and/or science, preferably at the postsecondary level. Knowledge of the learning context of highly selective postsecondary institutions preferred. Excellent organization, written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
