SR RESEARCH DATA SPECIALIST
Duties: The Sr Research Data Specialist will perform data entry, data management, programming support, and statistical analysis of an international patient registry/natural history study of a rare and deadly disease. The Data Specialist's primary responsibility will involve extracting medical record data into the registry database from patients in the U.S. The Data Specialist will also manage and clean data sets, and conduct statistical analyses in collaboration with the Principal Investigator, faculty statisticians, and study team. The Data Specialist will prepare tables, graphs and descriptive summaries of data for presentations, progress reports, grant applications and manuscripts.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree and 3 to 5 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
Strong computer skills and experience including database management, MS Excel, and PowerPoint required. Experience creating and modifying relational databases. Experience with medical coding (Medra, WHO-DDE) and with patient registries is a plus.
Knowledge of medical terminology and disease processes, and familiarity with Castleman disease and/or oncology clinical information and research is desirable.
High level of attention to detail, organizational skills and commitment to accuracy is required. Interest in performing repetitive data entry.
Possess good data entry methodologies that ensure accurate and precise data entry and monitoring.
Comfort in an 'iterative environment' in which periodic rework is inevitable.
