Summary of the Position

This position participates in recruiting and enrolling new students to the university and therefore is important in achieving the institution's goal of educating students for the world of work and life. The chief purpose of this position is to promote and market the institution by providing advice and information to various external constituencies. This position supports the regional management team and has primary responsibility for executing on-campus events for Undergraduate Admission. This post is responsible for articulating the benefits one would receive by attending Bentley. Functions include the execution of various tasks and assignments and assisting in the achievement of department goals through the initiation and implementation of projects.

Essential Functions

Coordinate the development and execution of on-campus events to support recruitment and yield goals. This would include collaborating with other UGA staff for event support.

Manage on-campus events including, but are not limited to Open House, the Women of Excellence Dinner, ALANA events, Off Campus Information Sessions and Guidance Counselor events. Participate in the development and execution of the Event strategy by researching trends and exploring new opportunities that can positively impact recruit and yield activities for each incoming class.

Travel and market Bentley University at high schools, college fairs and other educational forums providing public presentations to individuals and groups; develop and evaluate strategy for individually assigned geographic recruitment regions.

Interview prospective students on and off campus: follow up with written, telephone and email contact with students, parents and counselors. Present the Bentley message, including the admission process, at on-campus information sessions.

Review admission applications and independently render decisions; assign financial aid ratings; participate in entire file review process.

Serve as Officer-of-the-Day to assist in smooth daily office operation.

Minimum Qualifications(Education and Experience Requirements)

BA/BS degree AND a minimum of 2-4 years of related experience OR MA/MS degree AND a minimum of 1-3 years of related experience.

Would also consider a candidate as an Associate Director with BA/BS degree and 4 or more years of related experience.

Skills: Organizational and analytical abilities, solid communication skills, computer competency, ability to handle multiple tasks and belief in the value of a higher education and the capacity to articulate those benefits to the public. Ability and sensitivity in dealing with diverse populations.

Must hold and maintain a valid, unrestricted United States driver's license, with an insurable driving history as determined by Bentley's insurance carrier.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference given to those with event planning experience.

Physical Demands

Physical skills required of this position include alertness in dealing with technical issues, accuracy in presenting detailed and timely information and maintaining focus during frequent interruptions. Energy level is important and long hours both in and out of the office contribute to physical and mental exhaustion which affects judgment, attitude and accuracy. Recruiting events require lifting and carrying heavy boxes as well as standing for long periods of time.
