Provide technical support for research on how activity of neurons and synapses is altered in genetic models of neurological disease, especially epilepsy. Maintain rodent colonies, perform experiments, data and statistical analysis and laboratory management.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Bachelor's degree in neuroscience, biology or physiology or relevant field and one to two years experience with lab management, mouse genetics and colony management, neuronal cell culture and molecular biology and immunocytochemistry techniques required, or the ability to learn within a designated time frame.
Experience with or aptitude for whole cell electrophysiology and 2photon microscopy.
This is an opportunity for either an experienced technician who can contribute existing technical expertise or lab management skills to help build an exciting new NIH-funded research program or for an inexperienced scientist to learn cutting edge neuroscience techniques and possibly contribute to publications in leading journals.
