Job Description

Associate Director - Financial Planning and Reporting-1800890

Duties of an Associate Director - Financial Planning and Reporting may include the following but are not limited to:

  • Oversees creation of hospital-wide service line margin analyses
  • Oversees development of business plans and supporting data needed for filling CON's, and ad hoc data needs
  • Responsible for refinement of current methodologies for calculating costs and revenues in the hospital decision support system (Performance Analytics) and reconciling results with hospital financial statements
  • In collaboration with the Associate Director of Analytics and Business Intelligence, create end user documentation and training for the Performance Analytics BI tool to ensure correct interpretation of self-serve data
  • Identify opportunities for cost containment and revenue enhancement
  • Work with direct reports to develop success plans ensuring appropriate mentoring, coaching, and accountability for achieving goals

Qualifications


Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or related field. Minimum 5 years progressive supervisory and management experience. Minimum 3 years hospital financial planning experience. In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office. Self-motivated, highly organized professional with superior analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications: CPA or Master’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or related field. Experience utilizing an automated hospital Decision Support/Cost Accounting System in an acute care setting (Performance Analytics, EPSi, Strata, etc). Experience creating complex feasibility studies and ROI analyses for CON applications. Financial Planning experience at an academic medical center or teaching hospital. Knowledge of Cost Accounting principles used at academic medical centers or teaching hospitals. Knowledge of hospital coding and reimbursement. Prior experience utilizing a Business Intelligence tool. Ability to work independently while handling multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Excellent follow-up skills. Broad understanding of the changing healthcare finance environment.
