Degree and Area of Specialization:
PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, Biometry or closely related field is required.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with researchers concerning statistical design, execution, and analysis of studies is required.
Proficiency at presenting and communicating technical research findings, as demonstrated through scientific presentations and reviewed publications is required.
Expert knowledge of statistical software (SAS or comparable package) is required.
A minimum of 5 years as a consulting statistician in a biological/medical research setting is preferred.
License or certificate:
The successful candidate will be responsible for consulting, planning, and executing statistical analyses for various biomedical, clinical and outcomes/health services research projects. Research projects that require biostatistical support include animal experiments, cell-line studies, simulation studies, retrospective reviews of clinical data, prospective trials, clinical studies, as well as health services research projects involving large national datasets. Analyses will need to be performed after consultation with faculty members and complete review of literature.
This vacancy is being announced simultaneously with PVL# 93940; please note that only one vacancy exists. Having two position vacancy listings allows the School of Medicine and Public Health to consider candidates with both Masters degree credentials or PhD credentials for this position.
