Position Description
Advertised Job Summary
Under limited supervision, performs skilled electrical duties required to provide electrical modifications for in-house construction projects including the installation of electrical equipment. Serves as a journeyman electrician and assists helper electricians with on the job training
Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)High school diploma and 4 years electrical experience. SC Journeyman electrical license required. S. C. driver's license required.
Preferred QualificationsHigh school diploma and 5 years experience in commercial electrical trade for construction with strong knowledge of the application and use of testing equipment utilized in checking, testing and analyzing electrical systems such as volt, ohm and amp meters, phase and rotation testers, mega-ohm meters, multi-meters, etc., knowledge and experience in the fabrication and installation of materials and equipment required by electrical distribution systems, and knowledge of national and local code requirements.
Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesMust have knowledge and experience in the fabrication and installation of materials and equipment required by electrical distribution systems and knowledge of national and local code requirements.
Must be able to work within established resources, communicate in writing and orally to management, and maintain accurate records relating to time, materials and services provided. The ability to operate computer systems is essential. Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to plan and prioritize work.
Must become familiar/proficient in use of Microsoft Windows, Office and FAMIS and other programs developed to manage work orders and receive campus e-mail.
