Florida State University Libraries seek a creative, globally oriented, and media savvy Digital Media and Extended Campus (DMEC) Manager. The DMEC Manager has responsibility for a broad portfolio of services which includes the GEOSET digital media production studio as well as services to FSU’s international campuses.
The successful candidate will work as part of a team to develop and implement support and outreach strategies for our international study centers located in Valencia (Spain), Florence (Italy), and London (United Kingdom). The Manager will implement diverse programs related to online reference, research, information literacy, and collection needs of students, staff, and faculty overseas. The DMEC Manager will be in frequent contact with the international campuses, which includes travel to each of the locations.
The DMEC Manager is also the coordinator of the GEOSET (Global Educational Outreach for Science Engineering and Technology) digital media studio. GEOSET is a sophisticated recording and production studio located in the FSU Libraries. The coordinator is responsible for promoting the services offered through GEOSET and guide the digital media production for content being created in the studio.
Reporting to the Extended Campus and Distance Services (ECDS) Librarian, this full-time professional position is based in beautiful Tallahassee, FL, and will promote a positive working environment, collaborate with colleagues within the libraries as well as the university, and develop new services and resources to advance library goals and initiatives.


Manage GEOSET projects and priorities and acts as liaison to interested partners on campus while actively seeking out opportunities for collaboration and facilitating student and faculty media production and programming on campus. Support day-to-day operations of GEOSET Digital Media Studios and oversee maintenance, troubleshooting, and monitoring of equipment. Develop effective policies, workflows, and innovative initiatives for the GEOSET Digital Studios.
Provides training and professional development for student workers, instructors, and staff at international study centers and on FSU’s main campus for faculty preparing to study abroad.
Coordinates and assists in provision of virtual synchronous or asynchronous library instruction, orientation sessions, and consultations at each international campus.
Directs new areas of library outreach for extended campuses to support the information needs of our study-abroad population. Develops online events, online academic support programs, and marketing materials.
Participates in the development and maintenance of Open Education Resources (OER) at international study centers.
Manages full time Distance Services Library Associate and several student employees which includes hiring, evaluations, time and leave, etc.


Bachelor's degree and four years experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years.
Current experience with and working technical knowledge of standard operating systems and multimedia production equipment and software, such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Final Cut Pro X, iMovie, digital video cameras, DSLR cameras, and audio recording equipment
Demonstrated experience in media pre-production, production, and post-production workflows
Experience communicating and providing research assistance and library instruction virtually
Demonstrated ability to work independently and to collaborate effectively with staff, faculty and students at all levels to promote teamwork, equality, diversity, and inclusiveness within the Libraries and the campus
Flexibility in adapting to changing organizational priorities and technological environments
Strong service orientation and customer service initiative
Experience effectively managing staff by establishing project priorities and setting performance expectations


Experience in the field of library services or education or digital media services

Anticipated Salary Range

$ 47,658.60

Pay Plan

This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.

Criminal Background Check
