Principal Finance Analyst

Under general direction of the Director of Financial Operations, and as part of the Executive Business Office Financial Management Team, the Principal Finance Analyst provides high-level financial and administrative analysis and decision-making support for the units under the Office of the Chancellor and the Office of the Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor.

The Office of the Chancellor units supported by this position include the Chancellor's official residence, Tierney University House; the Office of Campus Counsel; the Office Equal Opportunity and Diversity; and the Office of the Chancellor. The Office of the Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor includes the Office of Inclusive Excellence, the Office of Academic Planning, the Office of Academic Personnel, the Office of the Ombudsman, the Academic Senate, the University Museum and Institute Project, the Office of Sustainability, and the Office of Global Engagement. As part of the team, the incumbent also provides oversight support to financial operations in Strategic Communications and Intercollegiate Athletics.

As a part of the Executive Business Office Financial Management team, the incumbent has independent decision-making authority, policy analysis and interpretation, and independent problem-solving responsibilities that requires on-going interaction with all levels of university, faculty and staff. Incumbent is responsible for providing specific direction to faculty and staff to assure compliance with UCI Policy and Procedures. The incumbent works collaboratively with unit directors providing cooperative assistance and oversight for all financial activities, while assuring accuracy, integrity, policy and procedure compliance of fiscal operations, and budget reporting. Incumbent identifies problems, and provides analysis, and recommendations leading to effective and lasting resolutions.

The incumbent will provide independent and high-level financial and administrative management and support for extramural grants, contracts, gift administration, and will be responsible for providing contracts and grants training and guidance to other financial staff within the Executive Management Business Office Financial Management team. The incumbent will work directly with campus Sponsored Projects Administration and Contract and Grant Accounting on all sponsored projects activities and with UCI Foundation to manage all gifts and manage all Foundation funds from various donors.

The incumbent represents the Office of the Chancellor, the Office of the Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor, and the Executive Business Office Financial Management team in business interactions with all levels of University administration, faculty, staff and students, distinguished guests, and a diverse public constituency. The incumbent maintains a professional and courteous manner using the utmost tact and diplomacy at all times.

Salary: Annual $64,564.00 - $89,432.00
Total Hours: 8-5, M-F
