Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree. (or proof of graduation by September 1, 2018)
Available to work evenings, weekends, and travel overnight.
Experience with event coordination

Preferred Qualifications:
Texas State University alumnus, former employee or current employee.
Two years or more of prior experience in professional college admissions or closely related experience.
Bilingual Spanish.
Experience working independently with minimum supervision.
Attention to detail.
Experience working with ethnically diverse student populations.
Effective and accurate written communication skills.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

Job Description:
The purpose of the job is to recruit prospective students to Texas State. Recruitment includes visits to high schools and two-year colleges as well as on- and off-campus programming. The position provides specific information on Texas State and advises students/parents so that the correct college choice might be made. This position reads admission files and recommends admission decisions. This position also works closely with New Student Orientation programming and undergraduate-specific events

Job Duties:
Responsibilities include: extensive travel to Texas high schools, two-year colleges and other community events; extensive contact and collaboration with high school and community college students, high school counselors, college advisors, university alumni and other community organizations; assisting with university programming such as campus visit days (i.e., Bobcat Day, Insight Days, etc.), bus trips, information sessions, and New Student Orientation; assisting with preparation of correspondence and statistical reports; counseling prospective students and families in the college selection process; evaluating academic credentials; communicating admission decisions; assisting faculty and other departments in recruitment efforts; and other duties as assigned. Some overnight, weekend and/or evening work required
