Nature of Work

This position maintains the office so that it functions according to standard procedures and meets its test-related obligations to the university, its students, vendors, non-UWG examinees, and other test-sponsoring agencies/institutions. It involves typical administrative support in the areas of responding to inquiries, ordering supplies/ equipment, maintaining records and yearly reports of testing activity, tracking the departmental budget, and hiring/training/ supervising student assistants. In addition, this position involves working with other campus entities to determine testing schedules including dates/times which best fit their needs and providing accurate records of the test results. Furthermore, this position works closely with the Coordinator of Academic Testing Services by scheduling as back-up to the director with regard to in-office testing; assisting with scheduling/ serving as a proctor for individualized/ independent, departmental, and institutional exams including—but not limited to—classroom tests for students with documented learning/physical disabilities, e-Core midterms and finals, UWG placement testing, licensure exams, non-UWG distance learning examinations, and CLEP. In the absence of the coordinator, the position serves in the capacity of the coordinator.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma and four to six years administrative experience or a combination of training, education and experience required. Familiarity with budgetary and purchasing issues. Effective communication skills (both oral and written) to deal with students, faculty, other examinees, and outside vendors. Strong sense of integrity and discretion due to the confidential nature of the office’s obligations. Organizational skills in order to multi-task successfully. Availability for occasional evening and Saturday testing obligations.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree. Experience with administration and proctoring of both standardized and non-standardized exams. Knowledge of BANNER a plus. Agrees to become a member of both the Georgia College Testing Association and the National College Testing Association.


$17.14/hrly (minimum) - $22.38/hrly (midpoint)

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

Assists with hand-delivery of exams to various departments across campus and may be asked to lift testing boxes of approximately 20 pounds.
