The Lewis Center for the Arts seeks a Music Director to support the creation and development of student independent work and with productions in both the Programs in Theater and in Dance. The Music Director composes original music, arranges and curates music and oversees the development of music in partnerships with students as they move through their creative processes. Specific responsibilities within the Programs in Dance and Theater include creating sound designs or original compositions, collaborating with students, guest artists and/or faculty for in-class projects, serving as Music Director for a number of productions and presentations throughout the academic year, accompanying, consulting and supplying music for academic courses, and administering and overseeing all dance accompanists and music for the department's curricular and co-curricular dance courses. Qualifications: Must have strong piano skills, experience in orchestral conducting and a working knowledge of musical theatre repertory. Must be an accomplished dance accompanist with strong piano and percussion skills, have a strong knowledge of classical, pop, world, and post modern musical styles, and a working knowledge of recording programs such as logic Pro X and Protools.
