Degree and Area of Specialization:
Bachelor's degree preferred with an emphasis in Business, Human Resources, Organization Behavior or Industrial Psychology.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Minimum of three years of human resources experience with at least three years of experience in organization development and/or training.
License or certificate:
SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP Certification a plus!
Under the general direction of FP&M's Director of Human Resources, the Training Manager acts as organizational development liaison and advisor to the organization's leadership. This position facilitates the organization's employee development and training initiatives across the organization. This position is also responsible for the development and integration of human resource programs and associated projects to achieve strategic business goals and operational objectives.
With a 24 hour a day, seven day a week operation, consisting of 1100+ Academic, University, Temporary and Student employees, the Training Manager plays a lead role in advancing training and professional development practices throughout the division in order to support FP&M's mission of providing excellence in facilities and services for our university community.
FP&M is a full-spectrum service organization that builds, maintains, and operates the physical environment of the UW-Madison campus in support of the University's education, research, and outreach activities. This position works closely with all departments in the division to deliver appropriate training programs. In addition, the Training Manager collaborates with the Office of Human Resource Learning & Talent Development team and other campus units to coordinate and develop professional development opportunities in support of the mission and strategic direction of the university.
