Job description

Duties: Immunology lab seeks a part-time (28 hours per week) lab technician who will be responsible for the following: (1) animal (mouse) colony management including daily/weekly cage census, record-keeping, assist with breeding and obtain genotyping samples; (2) perform assays such as PCR for mouse genotyping or other purposes, MACS, B cell culture, flow cytometry, and ELISA/ELISPOT as directed by lab scientists; (3) perform high-throughput agarose gel electrophoresis, PCR cleanups for DNA sequencing, and plasmid minipreps, and track samples throughout this process; (4) pre-order lab supplies and keep the lab clean and organized.
Position contingent upon funding.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or similar field and 0 to 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping required. Experience with murine B cell magnetic sorting, culture, and survival/proliferation assays by flow cytometry preferred. Experience handling mice and with humane care, animal handling SOPs and guidelines, and PCR for mouse genotyping strongly preferred. Experience with multicolor flow cytometry for murine B cell subsetting strongly preferred.
