Duties: Oversee and manage all functions serving graduate and post graduate programs and students at Penn Engineering in the Electrical and Systems Engineering Department. Work with the Department Associate Director and Graduate Chairs to coordinate graduate admissions, including recruiting efforts, processing and screening of applicants, respond to inquiries and communication of final decisions. Provide student support through 1) academic advising: administer audits and implement policies and regulations; 2) advocate for students by connecting graduate students to services available in the department as well as the school and university and trouble shoot issues, and gathering additional external resources such as fellowships and awards, managing the nomination and award process; 3) implement and improve day to day administrative tasks to accomplish the goals of the department. Ensure all processes are clear and streamlined; ensure that documentation is orderly and easily accessible, creating filing systems or database as needed. The graduate coordinator will also oversee and develop student/alumni relations in collaboration with the office team and other departments to enhance student experience, leading student groups such as ESEGA (ESE Graduate Association).
Qualifications: A High School Diploma or GED and 5 to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Bachelor degree and 2-3 years of experience preferred.
