Job description

Duties: Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Corporate Contracts and Alliances, oversee incoming or outgoing CDAs, MTAs or similar agreements between Penn and outside corporate entities. Directly responsible for the review, revision and negotiation of agreements between Penn and corporate entities involving the exchange of confidential information and the provision or receipt of proprietary materials, including data use agreements, and agreements for the transfer of human tissues.
Interact efficiently and professionally with all internal and external clients, and provide exceptional customer-friendly service to Penn faculty. Ensure compliance with University policies, provide training, information, and advice concerning CDAs, MTAs and related University policies to faculty, staff and outside parties. Maintain accuracy of information on confidential disclosure and material transfer agreements in relevant database systems. Verify export control screening has been performed for international agreements and that faculty are aware of obligations associated with receipt of materials. Coordinate CDA, MTA administration between the Penn Center for Innovation, the Office of Research Services and other responsible offices at Penn.

Qualifications: BA/BS plus 3-5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience; previous experience with contract negotiation; excellent oral and written communications skills; excellent customer service skills; knowledge of research compliance issues preferred; knowledge of scientific/medical terms associated with biological materials preferred; knowledge of research at Penn preferred.
