Job Summary

The Department of World Languages and Literatures at Skidmore College invites applications for a two-year, terminal position at the Visiting Assistant Professor (recent Ph.D.) level in the field of French Literature and Culture to begin the spring 2019. The successful candidate will have native or near-native fluency, a dynamic classroom presence, a demonstrated commitment to teaching French language at all levels, and interest in contributing to the program through involvement with the student clubs and extra-curricular activities. The teaching workload would be 18 workload credits for an entire academic year. This workload would be comprised of 3 or 4 credit courses and would typically approximate 5 courses per academic year. The College seeks to attract an academically and culturally diverse faculty, welcoming applicants from women and men from diverse backgrounds, and/or who have experience teaching diverse student populations.
