Position Summary:

Responsible for providing patient care in the Emergency Department by carrying out individualized patient treatment plans. Will assist with patient personal hygiene, medication administration, taking/recording vitals, specimen collection, and administration of patient treatments or procedures. Duties will also include observation, intervention, and physical restraint.

Salary Range:

Rate Minimum $30.32 Midpoint $30.32 Maximum $30.32

Required Qualifications:

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the HealthSystem

Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload

Basic Life Support

Demonstrated ability to apply logic and reasoning to identify when something is wrong or likely to go wrong, as well as alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to situations

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Knowledge of psychotropic medications and affects

Licensed Psychiatric Technician in the State of California

Minimum 1 year experience as a Psychiatric Technician

Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job

Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties

Preventative Management of Assaultive Behavior (PMAB) within 30 days of hire

Psychiatric Technician

Preferred Qualifications:

Bilingual Spanish / Vietnamese helpful

IV Certification

Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms

Phlebotomy Certificate

Previous experience working in a mental health clinical setting, with the mentally ill
