Schedule Information: Monday through Friday

Hours Per Week: 37.5

Work Conditions:

Work is primarily performed indoors and is sedentary in nature.  Travel to client locations is expected.  Overtime, evening and weekend work may be required in order to meet client schedules and sales goals.

Duties of Position:  

Develops new relationships with employers leading to the purchase of customized training programs.  

Assists with needs assessments inside companies to help identify solutions to education and training issues.

Prepares sales proposals and assists with preparation and execution of contractual agreements with client organizations and consultants/instructors.

Meets annual sales goals as determined by fiscal year budget and department manager.  Goals  are evaluated on a quarterly basis.

Meets weekly/monthly/quarterly activity goals (i.e. # of qualified leads, phone calls, emails, etc.) as determined by department manager.

Assists in providing direction to faculty/instructors/consultants, clerical, and technical staff involved and assigned to customized training programs.

Facilitates use of appropriate curriculum specialists/instructor for development and delivery of  customized training programs.

Assists to inform area employers existing Harper College courses suitable for credit and/or continuing education units, to be provided both on-site and/or through other employer-based arrangements.

Assists in preparation of time-tracking and sales reports to document activities of the department and those associated with clients.

Promotes Harper College offerings and services provided by various Harper College departments including Wojcik Conference Center, the Mobile Lab, the Job Placement Resource Center, and Registered Apprenticeship programs.

Collaborates with Admissions Outreach in communicating the benefits of the BusinessEdvantage program (in-District tuition for out-of-district residents who work in Harper’s district).

Assists with marketing activities on and off campus, as appropriate.

Performs related duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements:  

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Management or related field required.

Experience Requirements:  

Minimum 1-2 years of sales or experience in an education or training environment or related experience. Customer service experience required.  Excellent organizational, written and presentation skills required. Must be detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities. Excellent communication skills, creativity, and a willingness to be flexible and work with others in the WED department required. Must have basic Microsoft Office Suite skill.  CRM familiarity preferred.
