Position Summary:

The College of Professional Studies & Advancement at National Louis University is pleased to announce its search for a full-time Open Rank faculty member and Director for the Master of Public Administration (MPA) program. We seek a dynamic, highly-qualified, student-centered professional with a combination of academic and applied experience in the field.
Responsibilities for this position include program director duties (e.g., program outreach, curriculum development, supervising adjunct faculty, collaboration with advising, and mentoring students), teaching on-campus and online courses, service to the university, service to the profession, and scholarship. In addition to an emphasis on teaching excellence, National Louis University values engaged applied and community-based research. For consideration for tenure track, the successful candidate will have an active applied research agenda and strong potential for attracting external funding. 
The Master of Public Administration (MPA) program provides training in Public Administration as preparation for advancement in career in local, regional, state, and federal governments, nonprofits, and the private sector. The courses are taught in a blended (hybrid face-to-face and online) and fully online modalities. The position is based in Chicago. Qualifications:

Earned research doctorate (PhD) or practitioner doctorate (DPA, EdD, JD, or other) in Public Administration, Public Service Administration, Political Science, Community/Organizational Psychology, Community Development, Urban Planning, Sociology, Law, or closely related field. The College will also consider candidates who hold doctoral degrees in other disciplines with a master’s degree in Public Administration and a record of extensive professional achievement. 
Highly qualified candidates will have strong applied experience in local, regional, state, and/or federal government, demonstrated higher education teaching excellence, and experience teaching diverse groups of working adults at the graduate level. Highly qualified applicants will also have competency in online teaching platforms; curriculum development experience; strong technological literacy; and be committed to success of diverse groups of students served by National Louis University.
