WFSU Public Media is PBS, and NPR for Northern Florida and Southern Georgia. WFSU is located in Tallahassee, Florida and is a joint licensee (TV & Radio) of Florida State University.
Plan and produce a variety of local and statewide news stories and feature productions for broadcast across radio, television and web. Responsible for producing long form feature/series news and public affairs stories for broadcast.
Conducts interviews in the field including legislative and local/state government affairs for broadcast.
Operates and or directs the operation of television production equipment to include cameras (field), edit systems (nonlinear and linear), media storage devices (servers, VTR’s), audio systems, lighting instruments and other associated tools.
Serve as program host/producer for local and statewide programs and news segments including coordination on content materials for productions. Provides support for special events coverage as assigned by the News Director, produce special elements for these productions as assigned.
Responsible for editing, posting and formatting stories for news.wfsu.org. This includes locating photos to post with the news stories as well as the daily maintenance of the newsroom website.
Bachelor's degree and two years of reporting/producing experience; or a high school diploma/equivalency and six years of experience related to the duties of this position. (Note: or a combination of post high school education and experience in same as above equal to six years.)
Experience with the ethics, rules, and procedures of journalism.
Experience writing and producing news/feature/public affairs segments.
Experience proofreading and editing information in various formats.
Knowledge of the standards, principles, trends and practices of radio/television production.
Knowledge of current media technology and trends.
Ability to adhere to newsroom policy of accuracy, fairness, balance and high production standards.
Ability to adhere to WFSU and FCC standards and policies.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
A valid State of Florida or Georgia driver's license or the ability to obtain.

Anticipated Salary Range
Low- High 30's; commensurate with experience and qualifications.
This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.
Soft Money Funded Position
This is a soft money funded position, with renewal based on available funds and the needs of the University.
Criminal Background Check
This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check. The background check will be conducted as authorized and in accordance with University Policy 4-OP-C-7-B11.
