Posting Summary:
The Office of Sponsored Programs at the University of Virginia is recruiting for a Cash Accountant Assistant.

Reporting to the Assistant Director of OSP Post Award, the Cash Accountant Assistant will assist with the cash management of all sponsored awards to ensure compliance with sponsor and university terms and policies. The Cash Accountant Assistant will be responsible for outstanding receivable collections for all sponsored awards. The Cash Accountant Assistant will be responsible for cash activities to include but not limited to cash receipting in Oracle, sponsored awards budget and funding adjustments and ResearchUVa actions.

This position will also work closely with various members of the University's Research Community to resolve and collect on outstanding accounts receivable issues.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Working knowledge of accounts receivable and collection policies and procedures; tax regulation; state and federal laws and regulations concerning AR and collection practices; Some knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.

Demonstrated ability to perform fiscal processing functions; communicate verbally and in writing; explain policies and procedures; work with detailed information on a continual basis; meet deadlines; review fiscal data for accuracy and reconcile fiscal data.
