Posting Summary:
The Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Disease is seeking a Medical Office Coordinator to serve as the Eligibility/Intake Specialist and is the main point of contact for HIV/AIDS clinic patients to ensure access to medical services, support services, and educational resources of the Ryan White Program. The Eligibility/Intake Specialist meets with potential clients to determine clients' eligibility of Ryan White funded services and if deemed eligible, assists the client to complete the appropriate paperwork through accessing benefit programs such as Medicaid, SSI/SSDI, Medicare, TANF, SNAP, etc. If the client is deemed not eligible, the Specialist refers the client to available community resources. The Eligibility/Intake Specialist completes eligibility determination and non-medical case management intakes for callers and prospective clients with HIV; and assists the medical case managers with data entry of patient information for submission of updated reports to the Virginia Department of Health.
Qualified applicants must high a high school diploma or equivalent along with a minimum of two years' administrative experience. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) is also required. A Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field and having experience assisting with the coordination of patient services is preferred. Experience with EPIC, A2K3 and CareWare is also preferred.
