Job Description
The Student Affairs Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Student Services Coordinator to join our team.
Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
* Supports all programs and initiatives originating in the office of Orientation and Transition Programs.
* Provides leadership and is responsible for planning programs and student service initiatives that support student transition through the Transfer Center.
* Promotes the Transfer Center to new students and the larger UNT community.
* Coordinates, implements, and provides leadership to all aspects of Transfer Center programming including: Eagle for a Day, Transfer Communities, and Transfer Talkback.
* Assists in the coordination and implementation of First Flight and Spring Soar welcome week programs.
* Effectively hires, trains, and supervises up to 10 student Transfer Ambassadors.
* Effectively hires, trains, and supervises one Graduate Assistant.
* Serves as the staff advisor to Tau Sigma, a national honor society for transfer students, and coordinates its induction ceremony each semester.
* Assists with the development, revision, and distribution of marketing, educational, and informational publications and materials related to the Transfer Center.
* Works with the Office of Admissions to coordinate Transfer Center representation at various recruitment events and community college visits.
* Develops and maintains cooperative relationships with academic departments, faculty members, student affairs, and other university departments and offices.
* Sustains an awareness of current research trends in terms of the transfer student population.
* Actively monitors and responds promptly to activity on the Transfer Center social media accounts, ensuring that questions from current and prospective students are answered.
* Responds promptly to requests and questions that are sent to the transfer@unt.edu email account.
* Establishes learning outcomes for all programs, and actively contributes to the department's assessment plan by completing program evaluations and executive summaries.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
* Evening and weekend work will be required for orientation and various special programs.

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a Master's Degree in related field and two years of student services, student affairs, counseling, advising, or related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

* Excellent public speaking skills with experience in conducting training workshops.
* Ability to provide leadership and mentoring to student populations.
* Experience in networking across departments and programs.
* Demonstrated commitment to diversity.
* Strong organizational skills and ability to simultaneously execute multiple projects.
* Excellent verbal and written communication, and computer skills.
* Some experience in customer service is preferred.
