Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

The Training and Development Director I (Quality Coach) functions as a part of the South Carolina Child Care & Resource Referral Network team of statewide Training & Development Directors (Quality Coaches) that provides technical assistance to parents, early childhood programs, and community partners as it relates to all the core components of the Department of Social Services, Division of Early Care and Education grant requirements.

For this position, the selected applicant must obtain two credentials, both from the Center for Child Care Career Development, within 12 months of employment. (1) Credential for a South Carolina Certified Trainer Credential in all areas of child development. (2) Credential for a South Carolina Certified Technical Assistance Provider Credential at the Generalist II level.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)

Master's degree and 1 year training and development experience, or bachelor's degree and 3 years training and development experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Prefer a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education; or a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education; or a degree in education related field with a minimum of 18 credit hours documented on transcript of core coursework in Early Childhood Education. Experience as an employee/owner of an early childhood setting (center-based, family-based) serving infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Experience conducting adult/parent education training's and providing technical assistance to implement program quality standards in early childhood education setting.


Knowledge of computer web based programs and equipment such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
