The Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures invites applications for a one-year position in Chinese at the level of visiting assistant professor, beginning fall semester 2018. A Ph.D. is expected prior to or shortly after date of hire and native or near native command of both Chinese and English are required. The area of specialization is open. The successful candidate will be prepared to teach Chinese language courses at all levels, a course on Chinese literature in translation, and a course in the Liberal Arts Core Curriculum. The teaching load is five courses for the year. Salary and benefits are competitive.
