Assistant Analyst

The Sociology department in the School of Social Sciences at UC Irvine seeks a motivated, flexible and adaptable team player to provide analytical support and customer service to the MSO, Chair, faculty, students, programs and initiatives. As a member of the School of Social Sciences, the incumbent is tasked with upholding and exemplifying excellence in the University's core competencies-- job mastery, goal accomplishment, enterprise contribution and innovation-- while representing the MSO, Chair and Department to the campus. The Department of Sociology is comprised of 35 senate faculty, 6 non-senate faculty (lecturers), 553 undergraduate students and 91 PhD students, with approximately 35 Teaching Assistants per quarter. As Assistant Analyst of this robust and influential department, responsibilities include: coordination of student employment hires (TAs, readers and graders); assistance in the process of academic employment for hires, merits, promotions and excellence reviews; graduate program administration and recruitment; financial administration to include reimbursements, purchases and stipends; textbook ordering and database maintenance; academic year (graduate and undergraduate programs) and summer session scheduling and coordination; departmental website maintenance; event planning and orchestration; contract and grant proposal assistance and preparation; undergraduate program assistance and customer service pertaining to daily administrative operations for faculty, staff and students in the Department of Sociology.

Salary: Hourly $21.54 - $25.42
Total Hours: 8-5, M-F
Career Position.
Additional working hours may be necessary to meet department goals and objectives. Other duties may be assigned.
