Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (B.A.A.S.) degree program allows students to apply non-traditional credits (e.g., military, community college, technical) toward a baccalaureate degree. The program includes flexible design of concentrations in consultation with advisors and faculty. All majors in the program take three advanced courses. The senior lecturer will contribute to the teaching of these advanced required courses, be an integral member of the combined teaching/advising BAAS Unit, develop innovative and engaging teaching approaches, hold regular office hours, collaborate with advisors, assist with recruiting and outreach, contribute to regular planning and assessment, serve on college and university committees, and participate regularly in professional development. The BAAS Unit faculty members set an example for their students through active engagement in both university and community life. Teaching responsibilities include face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses taught at the main UNT campus as well as other locations in the North Texas area. Night and weekend classes may be included in the teaching load.

Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. (or ABD) or similar terminal degree.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience teaching multidisciplinary courses.
Experience teaching online and in-person.
Experience teaching non-traditional students.
Experience with development and assessment of student learning outcomes for both content area and primary skills (i.e., communication, critical thinking, teamwork).
Experience working directly with student services/advising staff.
