Job description

Duties: In support of the joint Department of Neuroscience and Mahoney Institute for Neurosciences Business Office, provide management and oversight for all sponsored project and special purpose fund financial activity. With the support of a Grant Manager and Financial Coordinator, manage all aspects of sponsored project activity, both pre- and post-award, review and approve all purchasing and payables transactions, maintain payroll records for all faculty and staff supported by sponsored projects, develop and maintain monthly reporting for investigators, and develop and maintain short and long range financial plans for individual investigators/labs. This position reports to the senior administrator for the Neuroscience and has a dotted reporting line to PSOM Office of Research Support Services.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree and 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in managing departmental budgets, grants administration and/or accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, are required. Master's degree is a plus. Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Excel, Business Objects, Ben Financials, and PennWorks. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management skills. Successful candidate must be highly motivated, goal oriented, attentive to detail and have a strong work ethic.
