Professor of Practice: Musical Theatre

The Department of Theatre at the College of the Holy Cross invites applications for a full-time Professor of Practice position to begin in August 2018. Candidates should be able to teach voice in acting, directing, the history of musical theatre, and an area of specialization.

This position carries a 2-1 teaching load along with the following responsibilities: directing one musical every year, advising the student theatre group, and vocal coaching. The Professor of Practice will also work closely with College entities such as the College Choir, Arts Transcending Borders, and other relevant constituencies. Candidates with teaching/directing experience in African-American, Latinx or Asian-American Theatre or Musical Theatre are strongly encouraged to apply.

Professors of Practice are eligible for travel support and reimbursement of relocation costs within the College's published polices. All full-time appointments offer competitive salaries and include full employee benefits. The initial appointment will be for a three-year term, with the possibility of renewal depending on the College's curricular needs and successful performance review.

Candidates must have teaching experience, and an expertise and substantial experience in directing musical theatre. A M.M. in Voice/Vocal Training is recommended , and an M.F.A. in Directing/Musical Theatre is required. Prior experience and a commitment to diversity in course curricula, show selection, and student engagement is highly preferred.
