The University of Mississippi seeks a dynamic and creative Associate Director of Strategic Communications within the office of University Communications. The associate director is responsible for helping guide the writing and editing team within the division of strategic communications, providing editorial leadership and direction for staff, helping develop ideas that promote major initiatives and institutional priorities, assisting with media outreach, and developing and monitoring metrics for the office.

Candidates must have a demonstrated track record of supervising and motivating a team of writing professionals; demonstrated skills and understanding of working with media; prior experience in developing key messages that support a comprehensive marketing strategy; a proven ability to analyze data and make programmatic adjustments as necessary; and the ability to work independently and within a team environment.

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university and five (5) years experience related to the stated duties.
