Degree and Area of Specialization:
BS/BA in molecular biology, biochemistry, cellular biology, genetics or related field required.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
At least 1 years experience in molecular cloning, RT-PCR, and DNA sequencing required. At least 1 year experience in molecular virology strongly preferred. At least 1 year experience in eukaryotic cell culture preferred. At least 1 year experience in laboratory animal techniques preferred. Candidate must also have excellent organizational and communication skills.
License or certificate:
Biological safety level (BSL) 3 laboratory certification; certification for working with blood-borne pathogens. Both may be acquired upon hire.
A position is available in Dr. Osorio laboratory at the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine to study viruses and develop novel approaches for vaccines and therapies.
