Required Qualifications:
-Be a U.S. Citizen, by birth or naturalization
-Current certification as a Peace Officer as established by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE)
-60 College Credit Hours/Associate Degree
-Pass driving record check
-No Class B or higher convictions
-Provide a Personal History Statement
-Undergo a criminal background investigation
-Valid Driver's License
-Must possess a high school diploma/GED
-Ability to interact courteously even in a controversial situation
-Ability to supervise
-Work flexible hours, rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays
-Ability to pass a Physical Assessment Test

Preferred Qualifications:
-Ability to investigate criminal incidents, motor vehicle
collisions and alarms.
-Ability to ensure proper procedures for the apprehension of
suspects is followed.
-Ability to utilize Microsoft Application and the Internet
-Bachelors Degree.
-Knowledge of University Policy and Procedures.
-Knowledge of Board of Regents rules and regulations
-Work experience in University environment.
-Have a consistent and satisfactory work history

Job Description:
Responsible for providing a visible deterrent against crime within the university community

Job Duties:
-Ability to investigate criminal incidents, motor vehicle
collisions and alarms.
-Ability to ensure proper procedures for the apprehension of
suspects is followed.
-Ability to utilize Microsoft Application and the Internet
-Bachelors Degree.
-Knowledge of University Policy and Procedures.
-Knowledge of Board of Regents rules and regulations
-Work experience in University environment.

Additional Information to Applicants:
Employment with Texas State University is contingent upon the outcome of a criminal history background check, drug/alcohol test and passing strength and agility test, WorkSTEPS.

Must be able to work flexible hours, rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.
