Assistant Professor of Economics

Job description

The Stafford School of Business at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College invites applications for a tenured/tenure-track faculty position in management at the Tifton Campus, beginning in the 2018-2019 Academic Year. The candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in economics, introductory statistics and finance.

In addition, the candidate will be expected to engage in scholarly and creative activity, continuing preparation and study, contribute to the development and growth of our students, and serve the College community. Evidence of teaching and scholarship in area of expertise is a plus.

A successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, service, intellectual contributions to the discipline, and have a strong desire to be a collegial member of Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.

Salary and Terms: Full-time, ten-month tenure-track position. Salary placement is based on evaluation and experience.

Appointment Date: August 1, 2018.

Required Qualifications Include:

· Ph.D. in Economics or related field from an AACSB accredited institution; however, candidates with ABD will be considered. A terminal degree in Economics or a related field is required for the rank of Assistant Professor;

· Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, online and web supported course delivery methods;

· Superior written and oral communication skills;

· A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and/ or community groups.
