POSITION: An 80% part-time, instructional academic staff position is available in the Department of Computer Science for the 2018-2019 academic year beginning August 27, 2018. The official title is in the Lecturer title series. This is a one-year appointment.
QUALIFICATIONS: A master’s degree in computer science or a related field from a regionally accredited institution is required; a Ph.D. in computer science or a related field from a regionally accredited institution is preferred. The following will be considered assets: evidence of successful teaching at the collegiate level; demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusiveness.
DUTIES: The successful applicant will be expected to teach undergraduate computer science courses as assigned in the Department of Computer Science. The selected applicant will teach approximately 12 contact hours each semester, which includes both lecture and laboratory sections. The selected candidate will be encouraged to participate in departmental activities and life.
THE UNIT: The Department of Computer Science is composed of 6 faculty members, an academic department associate, and a computer system administrator. The department graduates approximately 50 majors per year. The department strives to provide quality undergraduate education to students with a variety of educational goals.
