CLERICAL ASSISTANT III - EOPS
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: Plan, schedule and perform a wide variety of specialized clerical support duties; prioritize and coordinate office activities to assure timelines are met; develop schedules, type and process documents, coordinate communications and disseminate information; provide reference and resource information for an assigned program or functional area; read, interpret, apply and explain policies, procedures, rules and activities in conducting transactions with the general public, students, college staff and other college officials compile and tabulate statistical data; compile information from various sources and prepare appropriate forms, schedules, and reports; list, abstract or summarize data; register students for programs, workshops, and events establish, organize and maintain student records and files including attendance records; type a wide variety of materials from various rough drafts or oral instructions; prepare a wide variety of office communications including letters, memoranda, electronic mail, meeting notes, flyers and bulletins; review documents for accuracy, completeness and conformance to established procedures and standards; receive complaints, resolve issues or refer to appropriate personnel according to established guidelines; operate a variety of computer terminals, utilizing a wide variety of related software as assigned; operate a variety of office machines and equipment in assigned area; maintain all office supplies, machines and equipment; order supplies as needed; select, train and provide work direction to student workers; greet students, visitors and others, and provide information and assistance regarding programs, procedures and activities of assigned function or area; provide forms and assistance in their completion as appropriate; perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school including course work in office procedures and equipment and two years of related clerical experience that involves operation of a computer terminal.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint and Access is desirable.
SALARY & BENEFITS:
Range 13, Steps 1-6, $3,207.00-$3,902.00. Initial placement for external applicants is Step 1. An excellent benefits package which includes medical, vision, dental, retirement, vacation, generous sick leave package, and life insurance is available for the employee and eligible dependents.
WORKING DAYS & HOURS:
Monday-Friday: 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. (Approximately)
Work schedule may be adjusted to meet the needs of the department, additional evening and weekend hours may be required.
