Professional Research Assistant
NATURE OF WORK
This is a full-time (40 hours/week) Professional Research Assistant (PRA) at the Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes. The PRA will be responsible for recruiting and completing study visits, data management including data collection and entry, and following protocol guidelines.
This position reports to Franziska Bishop, MS. Supervision will include training and oversight for the position responsibilities.
This position will not provide supervision of others.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will provide both research and administrative support. The research responsibilities will include:
- Recruit and enroll study participants
- Schedule study visits
- Work with other study personnel to coordinate study visits and study paperwork
- Complete study visits
- Interview human subjects participating in a clinical trial
- Record data results
- Data entry
- Obtain and process study samples
- Track patient participation
- Abstract data from patient charts
- Tabulate research data
- Validate quality of data elements/data editing
- Other tasks as specified by study coordinator
Administrative responsibilities may include scheduling research meetings and appointments as well as assisting with other administrative duties as needed.
This position reports Monday through Friday during clinic hours. This position will be located at the Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes on the University of Colorado Denver Anschutz Medical Campus.

This position requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree. A degree in psychology or related field is preferred. Previous work experience in a research or clinical setting preferred.
Phlebotomy skills or willingness to be trained strongly desired. Experience processing research samples or willingness to be trained.
